Snorkelling safaris are activities to get to know first-hand what the seabed of the Galician coast is like. During the morning we will discover the wildlife in an informative way with the help of infographics and videos about the underwater natural heritage, and then we will snorkel guided in the Cíes Islands.

SNORKELLING SAFARI

in the Cíes Islands

This experience is subject to weather conditions and is recommended from May to October. The snorkelling safaris include activities to raise awareness of the Galician marine environment, snorkelling with a guide in the Cíes Islands and a photographic report. The Cíes Islands are a natural paradise and form part of the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia. 

The experience lasts 4 hours and includes the following activities:

Itinerary

Time : 10:00 am

Briefing

Presentation of the characteristics, usual inhabitants, functions, importance, threats and conservation of the safari environment.
Curiosities that can be seen in these places and how to find them.
Basic guidelines for responsible snorkelling and conservation of the environment
Question and answer session.

Time : 10:40 am

Guided snorkelling

Equipping with the material at the dock: 10.40 h.
Departure to the Cíes Islands: 11.00 h
Snorkelling: 11.45 h
We will dive into the known landscape through the previous briefing to put into practice the knowledge acquired and look for the associated fauna and flora (each person will carry a submersible identification board).
In addition to the accompaniment and guidance on the underwater route, photos will be taken of the participants and video images will be obtained to produce a summary piece of the activity.

Sharing

Sharing on board the boat when leaving the dive: 13.00 h.
Arrival in Vigo (shower and change in the changing rooms): 13.30 h
End of the on-site activity: 14.00 h.
