Workshop on the creation of rugs and tapestries using the tufting technique.

The workshop takes place in the traditional Raíces del Cerrato vegetable garden. Apart from making the design of our tapestry, you can visit the organic vegetable garden and everything that lives in it. Each student takes their own tapestry home, and if it is market gardening season, they can buy freshly cut vegetables.

STAGE 1

Getting to know the Organic Vegetable Garden

Discover the different vegetables and seasonal crops in a vegetable garden, following the traditional way.

STAGE 2

Tapestry Design

Each pupil will make a drawing of the design he or she wants to make on his or her tapestry.

STAGE 3

Tufting technique

Tufting technique to impose the materials on the tapestry and create the design.

STAGE 4

Vegetable picking

If it is harvesting season for a vegetable, you can help to pick and buy produce from the garden.
