La Demanda Botánica is an ecotourism activity that takes place in the Sierra de La Demanda, led by Emiliano Navas and Elena Manzanares, disseminators and cultural activists in the San Millán Valley.
We are locals, natives of the Sierra de La Demanda, we provide naturalistic information available to everyone, making known the Sierra de La Demanda and the Valley of San Millán, which was declared a World Heritage Site for its monuments and landscape.
La Demanda Botánica is an informative proposal with the mission of bringing botany and the landscape closer to the people who visit Nájera and its region. By disseminating knowledge, we offer knowledge, share enjoyment and promote the conservation of flora. As Linnaeus wrote "If you do not know the name of things, what you know about them disappears too".
We propose an experience of multisensory knowledge to discover botanical species, learn their scientific and popular names, and the uses that the locals have made of them. We will teach you the keys to botanical photography to identify and learn about the details of plants.
